Despite the pain, he chose to keep his injury under wraps, fearing it might affect the outcome of the fight. "I tore my meniscus on Monday of fight week," he said. "I hid it pretty well. The UFC Performance Institute flushed the fluids out of my knee, allowing me to walk, but I was limping. I was just limping around fight week, hoping nobody would see and it wouldn't come out in the news."
The injury, however, didn't seem to hinder his performance. Medic's knockout victory over Daniel Rodriguez in the opening round was nothing short of spectacular. He dropped Rodriguez with a hard shot and followed up with a few more punches, securing a victory that left the audience in awe. "This is what makes me a great athlete," Medic explained. "This is what makes us professionals. This is why we are at the top of the game. When shit hits the fan, you need to embrace it and go all in."

"They're going to have to operate but it's not invasive," he said. "It's going to be one of those arthroscopic surgeries. Meniscus tears are not a major issue, so probably a month of healing time to fix it. I'll be back in no time."
With a brief recovery time expected, Medic is already planning his next fight, aiming to return before the end of the year. "Before the holidays would be amazing," he said. "That way I can go snowboarding after the holidays and just enjoy my time in the mountains."
